Tara grew up in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and completed her Animal Science degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. She has a variety of animal experience ranging from research with chickens, working for Alberta Fish & Wildlife, to working in an equine veterinary practice. Tara moved to the island about 3 years ago to escape the prairie winters and to be able to enjoy the outdoors all year around. She has two dogs, Dax and Luna who accompany her on all of her outdoor activities both on land and in the water.
She is currently studying to be a Registered Veterinary Technician through the distance education program offered by Thompson Rivers University and is interested in further pursuing her education to specialize in physiotherapy for animals.
When neither working or studying, Tara can be found hiking, camping and exploring all the island has to offer.
